Oxenfoord Castle Weddings – stunning wedding with Penny & Conor

Oxenfoord Castle Weddings | with Penny and Conor

Penny and Conor travelled over from their home in Brisbane to Oxenfoord Castle to celebrate their wedding.  Edinburgh University phoosHaving met at Edinburgh University they decided to emigrate to Australia for the weather and lifestyle after Conor, a civil engineer got ‘fed up getting soaked on site for ‘nth time!’  We had only been in contact by email until we met for the first time for their pre wedding shoot on the tuesday before the wedding.  We had a good chat about the kind of wedding photography that they were looking for and then we went out to explore the area around the University; unfortunately it was graduation day and everywhere was mobbed.  We managed to find a quiet corner and produced some cracking  images .

Stunning Oxenfoord Castle Wedding.

The Saturday of the wedding itself turned out to be one of the best days of the year to date, blue skies and a nice cooling breeze, it didn’t start off so well for Conor however, as he cracked his forehead on the four poster bed which left him with a cut, not the best start for your wedding day!!

The ceremony itself took place at Crichton Collegiate Church which is a wonderfully atmospheric church a short drive from Oxenfoord.  Penny and her family arrived at Oxenfoord Castle early to finish their preparations before Penny’s dad drove her to church in a fantastic vintage Triumph sports car they had hired for the day.  It wasn’t the usual mode of transport for a bride but very much in keeping with her sense of fun and entirely appropriate; the sound of the engine was amazing!

Then day continued with a great dinner followed by a ceilidh enjoyed by all.  Here are some favourite images from the day, if you want to check out the gallery of images please follow the link.

Penny’s bouquet and table arrangements were by Flowers by Clare and the excellent ceilidh band were Norman McKay Ceilidh Experience.
