Planning Your Wedding

It is always a good idea to start looking for and even booking your photographer as soon as you have decided on a date for your wedding.

Avoid choosing a photographer based solely on a brochure, phone call or price. Instead you should always make an appointment to look at their portfolio of wedding photographs. It is vital that you meet the photographer who will actually be taking your photographs. This will allow you to build a rapport with him and ensure that everything runs smoothly on the day.

Please make sure that the photographer you choose is a member of a professional body such as the Society of Professional Wedding & Portrait Photographers (SWPP), also ensure that they are insured against any unforeseen circumstances.
It is important, though not always possible, to have your wedding as early in the day as you can, this will allow more time to relax after the ceremony and talk to your guests. It will also allow more time for your photographs thus giving the benefit of being more relaxed.

Like most people you probably hate having your picture taken, and much prefer the more candid approach. A good photographer can make you feel comfortable and will be able to position you so that your images look entirely natural and relaxed.

When you are planning your day it is essential that you allow sufficient time for the photographs to be taken. The day is always going to vary from wedding to wedding but things to take into account are travelling time from the hotel to the church, locations for your photographs and travelling time to get there and travelling to the reception thereafter. Other things to consider are the size of the wedding party itself and how long it will take to get people together. You should be particularly careful during the Autumn and Winter months.

If you have any questions about any of the above or there is anything that you would like to talk about regarding your wedding, please feel free to call.
