Wedding Planning & Wedding Venues in Edinburgh & Lothians

If you are planning a wedding in Edinburgh there are a number of things to factor in; for example travel and traffic (jams)! Edinburgh can be a chaotic city for driving at the best of times; even more so when the annual Edinburgh Festival is on when it seems to grind to a standstill. This makes choosing your wedding ceremony and venue location critical. You really don’t want to be stuck in your wedding car in a traffic jam in the height of summer wasting precious time when you could be having your wedding photographs or celebrating with your family and friends. One solution is to choose a wedding venue in Edinburgh where you can host both the ceremony and reception. There are numerous wedding venues in Edinburgh that will allow you to do this; I have listed a few below –

Location, Location, Location!

One of the most famous and obvious venues for a wedding in Edinburgh is Edinburgh Castle. I have been fortunate to be asked for wedding photography in Edinburgh Castle on a number of occasions and it is a spectacular wedding venue. However, unless you have booked the venue, you will not be allowed to use it as even a backdrop from the Castle Esplanade; the staff are pretty switched on to this and you will be moved along; politely though! The Royal Mile is always busy and it makes for great fun shots of a Bride and Groom walking through the summer crowds not to mention the congratulatory comments that are thrown their way.
